The leather case is used by the AV handler to hold the latex AV.
Make sure to store it dry and use leather soap to maintain the condition of the leather.
Make sure to clean the latex liner after every use. Store in a dry dark place with no direct sunlight. Use AV conditioner to help preserve and maintain the AV.
